Banamex restores services after widespread system outage

Banamex experienced a widespread system outage on Monday, September 7, 2026, affecting various banking services for approximately eight hours. The disruption impacted the mobile application, BancaNet, ATM withdrawals, transfers, and card payments at establishments.

Reports via social media and Downdetector indicated that the issues were most prevalent in Chihuahua, Monterrey, San Luis Potosí, Guadalajara, and Querétaro. Banamex acknowledged a ‘general intermittency’ in its systems and worked to resolve the issue.

By late afternoon, the bank announced that services had been restored. However, the institution advised customers to report any remaining errors and suggested visiting branches or using nearby ATMs if minor issues persist.
