Banana Ball makes Detroit debut at sold-out Comerica Park

Banana Ball, a fast-paced reimagining of baseball characterized by choreographed dances and unique rules, has arrived in Detroit for its first weekend at Comerica Park. The sold-out event features matchups between the Party Animals and the Firefighters.

Created by Jesse Cole, Banana Ball emphasizes crowd participation and nonstop entertainment. The format eliminates bunting and allows fans to catch foul balls for outs. The high demand for the Detroit stop was evidenced by nearly 200,000 fans entering a ticket lottery for the stadium capacity.

In addition to the Detroit games, the Banana Ball Championship League features six independent professional teams. Players, such as Party Animals catcher Bronson Balholm, engage in extensive post-game meet-and-greets with fans, highlighting the sport's focus on fan interaction.
