Banca del Piceno shifts role toward business development and risk management
Banca del Piceno is evolving its role from a traditional credit intermediary to a strategic development partner for local businesses. This shift was highlighted during a conference at the Palariviera in San Benedetto, where results from a new socio-economic study were presented.
Professor Gian Luca Gregori noted that territorial banks must address increasingly complex needs, including financial planning, digital transformation, management control, and internationalization. He also emphasized the importance of 'business transition' over simple generational succession, noting that many business owners are over seventy and succession may not remain within the family.
Banca del Piceno President Sandro Donati stated that the institution is acting as a research center to better understand local economic dynamics. The bank is also expanding its risk management focus to include emerging concerns such as climate risk to better support the evolving needs of the productive fabric.
