BancaStato Enables Regulated Crypto Trading Through Sygnum‑Avaloq Integration
Swiss cantonal bank BancaStato has launched regulated cryptocurrency trading by linking Sygnum’s B2B digital‑asset platform to Avaloq’s core banking software. Customers in the Ticino region can now buy, sell and hold Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin and Solana directly from the bank’s existing web and mobile banking apps, with market orders executed via Sygnum’s API. The integration removes the need for a separate order‑management system, lowering operational complexity and risk.
Sygnum’s Liechtenstein subsidiary recently received a MiCA CASP licence, allowing European partner banks to use its infrastructure without building their own crypto operations. “This marks a significant step in the maturity and scalability of regulated digital asset infrastructure,” said Fritz Jost, Sygnum’s chief B2B officer. Over 25 banks globally, including Societe Generale‑FORGE and PostFinance, already use the platform, and BancaStato is the first to leverage Avaloq’s SaaS solution for crypto services.
