Banco Caribe and BANDEX launch SME credit line

Banco Caribe and the Development and Export Bank (BANDEX) have formalized a second-tier credit line specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Dominican Republic. The agreement is designed to provide working capital to help these businesses manage daily operations, such as inventory, payroll, and supplies.

Under this arrangement, BANDEX acts as a second-tier bank, providing funds to Banco Caribe, which then distributes the credit to businesses under its own operational conditions. This mechanism aims to increase access to competitive financing for a sector that is vital to the national economy but often faces barriers to traditional credit.
