Banco Central do Brasil faces over 3,000 job vacancies

The Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) is facing a significant staffing shortage, with 3,160 vacancies reported as of July 2026. This represents approximately 48.8% of the total positions authorized by law.

The vacancies are distributed across three main career paths: 2,537 auditor positions, 474 technical roles, and 149 legal positions (procurador). Despite this high deficit, the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services has only authorized 170 new positions for the upcoming civil service exam.

The authorized vacancies include 100 auditor roles, 50 technical roles, and 20 legal roles. Even if all 170 positions are filled, nearly 3,000 vacancies will remain within the institution.
