Banco Comercial Portugues completes 77.4% of share buyback program
Banco Comercial Portugues has implemented 77.4% of its planned share buyback program. To date, the bank has invested €315.2 million to repurchase shares equivalent to 1.92% of its capital.
Approximately €92 million remains available for further purchases, though the bank has not guaranteed that the full remaining volume will be utilized. The program, which is scheduled to end on December 4 unless terminated earlier, has an upper limit of 8% of capital. The execution of these transactions on Euronext Lisbon is being managed by J.P. Morgan SE.
The buybacks are part of a broader distribution strategy for 2025–2028, which aims to distribute up to 90% of net profits through a combination of dividends and share repurchases. Future distributions remain strictly tied to capital requirements, specifically maintaining a CET1 ratio of over 13.5%.
