Banco de España opens free textile art exhibition in Madrid

The Banco de España has opened a free textile art exhibition titled ‘El plano flexible’ at its headquarters in Madrid. The exhibition, which runs until March 28, 2027, features nearly fifty pieces, including tapestries and rugs from the bank's own collection.

Historically used to decorate institutional spaces for negotiations and official receptions, these textile works are presented as architectural elements that manage light and sound rather than mere ornaments. The display also incorporates contemporary proposals alongside paintings, photographs, videos, and documents to showcase the evolution and versatility of the material.
