Banco de Tierra del Fuego launches gas connection financing
The Banco de Tierra del Fuego (BTF) has launched a financing mechanism in collaboration with Camuzzi Gas del Sur to assist families in Tierra del Fuego with domestic natural gas connections. This initiative targets families who are beneficiaries of the provincial LPG subsidy and have the gas network available in front of their homes.
Under the program, applicants can finance up to 5,968 UVIs (currently exceeding 9 million pesos), subject to technical feasibility and credit pre-qualification. Due to a provincial interest rate subsidy, the final rate is set at 25%. The credit offers a term of up to 42 installments, which includes a six-month grace period for both principal and interest payments.
To simplify the process, loan installments will be integrated directly into the monthly gas service bill, a method authorized by the National Regulator for Gas and Electricity (ENReGE). BTF President Adrián Cosentino stated that the initiative aims to improve the quality of life for residents by providing access to essential services and permanent social infrastructure.
