Banco do Brasil postpones new public contest to 2027

Banco do Brasil has indicated that it will not publish a new public contest notice in 2026. Following negotiations between the institution and worker representatives, the delay was reportedly justified by restrictions related to the electoral period. Consequently, expectations for a new selection process have shifted to 2027.

As an immediate alternative to a broad contest, the bank announced the creation of 680 specialist positions to assist agencies facing staffing difficulties. However, labor representatives, including the Comissão de Empresa dos Funcionários do Banco do Brasil (CEBB), continue to advocate for a larger recruitment effort, estimating a need for approximately 5,000 vacancies to replenish the workforce.

Despite the delay, the bank is proceeding with the selection of an organizing body for future contests. Four institutions are currently under evaluation: Fundação Cesgranrio, Fundação Getulio Vargas, Cebraspe, and IBFC. The goal is to establish a long-term contract to facilitate future external selections as needed.
