Banco do Brasil reopens labor negotiations with union

Banco do Brasil has reopened negotiations with the Contraf-CUT union regarding the Collective Labor Agreement (ACT). This move follows a decision by the majority of employees in recent assemblies to seek an improved proposal rather than proceeding immediately to strike action.

During an online meeting, Banco do Brasil stated that its previous proposal represents its limit, citing restrictions from electoral legislation that prevent state-owned companies from offering salary increases above inflation during election years. The bank also provided clarifications regarding a R$ 3,000 bonus under the 2026 Compliance Campaign, noting that approximately 71,500 employees in business and support areas are eligible if specific bank-wide targets are met.
