Banco do Nordeste proposes 2027 FNE funding for Rio Grande do Norte and Maranhão

The Banco do Nordeste (BNB) has presented preliminary budget proposals for the Northeast Constitutional Financing Fund (FNE) for 2027, targeting significant investments in the Brazilian states of Rio Grande do Norte and Maranhão.

In Rio Grande do Norte, the projected allocation is R$ 4.3 billion, a 15.9% increase over the 2026 programming. This amount is intended to fund infrastructure, livestock, commerce, services, industry, agriculture, and tourism, with R$ 569.3 million specifically earmarked for the state's industrial sector. The final plan awaits consolidation and approval by the Deliberative Council of Sudene.

In Maranhão, the proposed initial volume is R$ 6.45 billion. The largest portions of this budget are designated for livestock (R$ 1.99 billion), agriculture (R$ 1.73 billion), and commerce and services (R$ 1.57 billion). Additional funds are allocated to infrastructure (R$ 814 million), industry (R$ 254 million), and tourism (R$ 76 million).
