Banking sector adopts digital transformation and AI models
Financial institutions across Latin America and Europe are undergoing significant digital transformations. In Guatemala, Banco G&T Continental has launched a Hybrid Agency model, integrating 24/7 digital self-service lobbies with specialized in-person advisory services across ten strategic locations.
A report from Boston Consulting Group (BCG) highlights the rise of ‘agentic marketing’ in Latin American banking. The report notes that specialized AI agents are enabling banks to adjust strategies in real-time; for instance, a leading bank in Chile saw digital sales increase by 69% through this model, while banks in Central America have also reported significant growth in digital card sales and portfolio expansion.
In Paraguay, Banco Familiar is implementing Digital Savings Deposit Certificates (CDA Digital) to modernize savings management, following modernization efforts led by the Central Bank of Paraguay. Meanwhile, in Spain, CaixaBank has received five international awards from Global Finance, including Best Digital Bank for Individuals in Spain, recognizing its use of artificial intelligence and omnichannel experiences to enhance user security and personalization.
