Banco Popular delivers 76 homes to indigenous families in Costa Rica

Banco Popular y de Desarrollo Comunal has officially delivered 76 homes to families within the Cabécar Indigenous Territory of Chirripó. This initiative, part of the Alto Chirripó 11 project, was made possible through an alliance with the Banco Hipotecario de la Vivienda (BANHVI) involving an investment exceeding ₡1,558 million.

The project directly benefits 285 individuals, including 164 children and adolescents, and supports 75 households led by women. Located across the provinces of Cartago and Limón, the housing was constructed to respect the identity, culture, and traditions of the Cabécar people. The bank's social banking division aims to provide vulnerable populations with improved access to housing, financing, and inclusive development opportunities.
