Banco Popular Dominicano reaches 58,000 children with financial education
Banco Popular Dominicano has implemented a comprehensive financial education strategy for children, reaching 58,143 minors across the Dominican Republic as of August 2026.
The initiative is centered around the children's book ‘Ahorrar es Crear’ (Saving is Creating), written by Laura Vicens and illustrated by Karla Peña. Since its launch in March 2024, the book has seen 10,868 digital downloads and 18,000 printed copies distributed through various educational and cultural programs.
Additional components of the program include 268 educational talks titled ‘Ahorrar nos hace bien’ conducted in collaboration with Ciencia Divertida, reaching 25,641 children. The bank also offers a digital course called ‘Aventura Financiera’ via the Finanzas con Propósito Academy, which has issued 3,634 certifications. The bank recently participated in the 2026 International Children's and Youth Book Fair, distributing 1,000 copies of the featured book to families.
