Banco Popular reaches 13th in Costa Rica reputation ranking

Banco Popular y de Desarrollo Comunal has achieved its highest position in the Merco Empresas Costa Rica ranking, placing 13th among the country's companies with the best reputation for 2026. This result establishes the institution as the second-highest ranked public entity and the second bank with the best reputation in Costa Rica.

Additionally, the bank rose seven positions in the Merco Responsabilidad ESG Costa Rica 2026 ranking, reaching 17th place among organizations for environmental, social, and governance performance. Corporate General Manager Gina Carvajal stated that these results validate a deep transformation initiated in 2023 aimed at putting people at the center of the bank's services to better meet their needs.
