BancoSol and FUNDES Bolivia support recyclers with waste initiative

An alliance between BancoSol and the Foundation for Sustainable Development (FUNDES Bolivia) is supporting 48 women recyclers through a specialized waste collection initiative. The project provides organized recyclers in La Paz, Cochabamba, and Santa Cruz with access to pre-separated materials located at bank offices.

Between January and July 2026, the initiative recovered 10.63 tons of recyclable waste via differentiated bins for paper and plastic installed in 30 bank branches. An additional volunteer campaign contributed 1.9 tons of waste, generating over Bs 3,000 in net income for recyclers in La Paz. The program aims to increase the income of these women, who often rely on collecting materials such as paper, cardboard, and scrap to support their families.
