Banda Aceh police arrest domestic worker for gold theft

Police in Banda Aceh have arrested a former domestic worker, identified by the initials NH (31), for the alleged theft of gold jewelry belonging to her former employer. The loss is estimated to be worth approximately Rp119 million.

According to Kompol Miftahuda Dizha Fezuono of the Banda Aceh Police, the suspect allegedly admitted to taking 13 mayam of pure gold, which is equivalent to roughly 42.9 grams. Authorities have recovered 11 mayam of gold as evidence, including rings and bracelets.

In addition to the jewelry, investigators seized a Honda Vario motorcycle, two mobile phones, and a refrigerator, which were allegedly purchased using the proceeds from the sale of the stolen gold.
