Banda del Río Salí former security official linked to labor court ruling

A labor court in Argentina has ordered the company SILTUC SRL to pay $51,913,678.89 to former employee Ramón Ángel Gómez following an unjustified dismissal. The ruling, issued by the Oficina de Gestión Asociada del Trabajo N.º 2, rejected the company's claim that the dismissal was due to job abandonment.

The case involved allegations against Mario Marcelo Moreno, the former Secretary of Security for the Municipality of Banda del Río Salí and current general manager of the Hipódromo de Tucumán. Gómez alleged that during a meeting in September 2024, Moreno threatened him with a firearm after he refused to accept a voluntary retirement package.

While the court proceedings included the worker's claims regarding Moreno being “enfierrado” (carrying a weapon), the labor sentence did not verify the existence of the weapon or prove the threat occurred, noting it merely reproduced the complainant's account. The court focused on the dismissal, finding that the company failed to prove Gómez intended to terminate the employment relationship.
