Banda El Recodo street performance interrupted by London police
Banda El Recodo, the Mexican regional music group, had an improvised street performance interrupted by London police near Tower Bridge. The group was conducting an impromptu set for tourists and passersby as part of their European tour celebrating their 90th anniversary.
Authorities approached the musicians and ordered them to stop playing and vacate the area, reportedly due to noise levels and local regulations. The band members complied without confrontation, quickly packing their instruments. The incident was captured on video and shared by the group on social media, where they jokingly noted that their mission to bring music to London's most iconic landmarks was not completed this time.
The group is currently on an international tour that includes scheduled performances in cities such as London, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Munich. In London, they recently held a formal concert at the KOKO venue in Camden.
