Bandai unveils Tamagotchi Ring to celebrate 30th anniversary
Bandai has announced the Tamagotchi Ring, a miniaturized version of its iconic virtual pet designed to be worn as a ring. This release marks the 39th model in the series and celebrates the brand's 30th anniversary.
Developed over two years, the device is the smallest in the franchise's history, measuring approximately 28mm in height. It features a 0.56-inch color LCD screen and includes over 30 classic characters that evolve based on user care. While the front retains the traditional three-button aesthetic, these are decorative; actual controls are located on the sides of the ring.
The device utilizes a rechargeable battery system, requiring a dedicated charging case rather than traditional button cells. It will be available in three colorways: Pink & Pearl White, Light Blue & Metallic Gold, and Black & Metallic Silver.
Pre-orders are available through Premium Bandai in Japan for 7,700 yen, with shipments scheduled to begin in February 2027, followed by a second wave in April 2027. Currently, no official international retail channels have been confirmed, meaning collectors outside of Japan may need to rely on third-party importers.
