Bandai launches Tamagotchi ring wearable device

Bandai has released the ‘Tamagotchi ring’, the first ring-shaped device in the Tamagotchi series. Priced at 7,700 yen, the device is available in three colors: Pink & Pearl White, Blue & Metallic Gold, and Black & Metallic Silver.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the franchise, the ring allows users to raise 30 different popular Tamagotchi characters from the past three decades. The device features a 0.56-inch high-resolution color LCD, which is the smallest screen size in the series' history. At 28mm in length, it is approximately half the size of the original 1996 Tamagotchi.

Due to its specialized small size, the device focuses on core caretaking functions and does not connect to smartphones or other electronic devices. Pre-orders through Premium Bandai have already reached their limits following high demand and positive social media reception.
