Bandai Namco delays Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 to late 2027

Bandai Namco and developer Dimps have officially rescheduled the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 to the second half of 2027. Producer Masayuki Hirano stated that the decision follows extensive community feedback and survey results, which have led the team to prioritize improvements to core mechanics.

Key development focuses include restructuring PvE missions, character progression, and online battle infrastructure. The delay also aims to address concerns regarding the Super Saiyan transformation mechanic, which players criticized for being time-limited rather than permanent, as well as connectivity issues reported during early previews.

Set in the year 1000, the game features a new setting in West City and introduces a 'Soul Change' ability, allowing players to transform into legendary warriors. Players can create custom avatars from various races, including Saiyan, Human, Namekian, and Frieza Race, with move animations now tied to specific Battle Styles rather than just race. The title is slated for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
