Bandai Namco announces Genesis Maidens DLC for Echoes of Aincrad

Bandai Namco has announced ‘Genesis Maidens’, the first DLC expansion for the action RPG Echoes of Aincrad, set in the Sword Art Online universe. The expansion is scheduled for release in the North American winter of 2026, spanning from late December 2026 to late March 2027.

The DLC will introduce Misumi Tozawa, also known as Mito, a character from the Sword Art Online Progressive films. The narrative will focus on Mito as she navigates guilt regarding her past actions. Gameplay additions include new areas within floors 1 and 2 of Aincrad, a new weapon type called the curved sword, and a system for enhancing armor through passive effects to allow for more customized character builds.

Genesis Maidens will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
