Bandai Namco Announces New Gundam Anime 'Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO
Bandai Namco Filmworks announced a new entry in the Gundam franchise, "Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX‑ZERO," at this year’s San Diego Comic‑Con. The series is scheduled to debut on Japanese television sometime next year as part of the broader "RG Project" that also includes the upcoming game "Gundam Rogue Orbit."
The anime will be produced by Sola Animation with Kenji Kamiyama directing and writing the script. Character designs are handled by Minoko Takasu, Gundam designs by Eiichi Shimizu, and music composed by Go Shiina. The story follows Ray Azumi, voiced by Takeo Ootsuka, who awakens on the Moon 45 years after an alien object's technologies triggered an apocalyptic crisis.
Set in a future where humanity has colonized the solar system, the series explores the lasting impact of the “Apocalypse” that forced humans to abandon Earth and live in space habitats.
