Bandai Namco releases Tekken 8 balance update Patch 3.02.01

Bandai Namco has released Patch 3.02.01 for Tekken 8, introducing significant balance changes to the game's combat mechanics ahead of the Tekken World Tour Master events. The update aims to address ongoing criticism from professional players regarding the dominance of the Heat system and high offensive potential.

Key universal changes include a reduction in maximum health for all characters, lowering it from 200 to 190 points. This adjustment is intended to make matches conclude more quickly. Additionally, the developers have implemented a debuff to quick recovery; the recovery time after being knocked down has been increased by 5 frames, making players more vulnerable after a fall and discouraging spamming of the mechanic.

The patch also seeks to encourage more thoughtful gameplay and interaction rather than long, high-damage combos. While the changes address specific mechanics like the Heat-Burst and wall-carry dynamics, some players suggest the update may not be substantial enough to fully resolve all balance concerns regarding the Heat system.
