Bandai Namco reveals online multiplayer details for Ace Combat 8

Bandai Namco has unveiled details for the online multiplayer component of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, titled ‘Ace Combat Online’. The mode features a dedicated progression system and separate save data from the main campaign.

Players will interact within a virtual Air Force Base hub that can host up to 100 players simultaneously. This social space includes customizable avatars, a virtual arcade with classic Namco titles, a jukebox, and training areas.

Two primary modes have been announced: ‘Co-Op Assault’, a PvE mode where two teams of four compete for high scores, and ‘Co-Op Warfare’, a PvPvE mode where two teams of four battle each other alongside NPC units. The game will also feature limited-time emergency missions, such as ‘Scramble’ and ‘Emergency Sortie’, and various PvP events.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Deluxe Edition owners will receive early access starting September 29, 2026. The title will support cross-play across all platforms.
