Bandai Namco rolls out free “Hoyojo” update for Tamagotchi on Nintendo Switch

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced a free software update for its Tamagotchi title “Puchi Puchi Omisechi Omachido‑sama!” on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The update adds a new communal room called “Hoyojo” (ほよーじょ), which was previously accessible only to store‑manager Tamagotchis. After the patch, all Tamagotchis in Tamahiko Town can visit the space, which now features a larger building and a selection of themed furniture.

The company released a celebratory video titled “Congratulations! Hoyojo Upgrade” on X and its official YouTube channel. Players receive initial furniture items from the Tamahiko Prince, and can further furnish the room through daily‑changing themed items sold at the “Kaguya” shop. The expanded room functions like a doll‑house, allowing users to arrange décor without gathering materials, and offers a new “off‑duty” view of Tamagotchis relaxing on sofas or beds. Additional furniture purchases also trigger building upgrades, unlocking more interior space.

The update is part of an ongoing series of free enhancements planned for the Tamagotchi franchise on Nintendo’s platforms.
