Japanese entertainment news: New character merchandise and service updates

Various entertainment and character-themed merchandise releases and service updates have been announced for the Japanese market.

BANDAI SPIRITS is launching several new Ichiban Kuji character lotteries. The Splatoon 3 third installment is scheduled for release on August 22, 2026, featuring items such as a SplataShooter light and various plushies. Other upcoming lotteries include Bleach (September 19), Evangelion (August 29), and Dragon Ball GT (August 22). A Tamagotchi Paradise themed lottery will be available online starting August 18.

In the Sanrio sector, new plush-textured goods including 'Nuicoron' and 'Nemuritai' items are set for release in late August 2026. Additionally, Bandai is re-releasing Sanrio miniature package collections via Gashapon in the fifth week of August.

Regarding digital services, the Apple Arcade title Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls will end its service on September 3, 2026, following approximately five years of availability. The game will also cease distribution on Apple Arcade on August 20.
