Bandit assault in Zamfara’s Bungudu kills, abducts officials and draws PDP candidate’s condemnation

Heavily armed bandits attacked the Bungudu local government area in Zamfara State, Nigeria, killing four security personnel and civilians and abducting the council chairman, Hon. Nura Umar Abdullahi, along with several residents. Family members described a two‑hour siege in which the attackers entered the chairman’s residence, released his wife and daughter, and seized the chairman and four other captives before retreating into the bush.
