Bandits kill eight farmers in Sokoto State attack

At least eight farmers were killed and five others injured during an attack by bandits in the Ghandi community, located in the Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, as assailants reportedly opened fire on residents and farmers.

Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmed Rufai, confirmed the attack and stated that the command is currently gathering information to establish further details.

A local source suggested the violence may have been a retaliatory measure following recent security operations in which several members of the bandit group were killed by security personnel. The attack has increased security concerns for farmers and residents in Ghandi and surrounding communities in the North-West region.
