Bandırma hosts community art workshops and mural projects

In the Bandırma district of Balıkesir, various community art initiatives are underway to promote local culture and aesthetics. In the Sanat Sokağı (Art Street) area, glass mosaic and stained glass artist Mertkan Akça led a workshop where participants created decorative works using colored glass pieces.

Simultaneously, a volunteer mural project has begun on the retaining wall of the Öğretmenevi in the Hacı Yusuf neighborhood. Led by neighborhood head Semra Ulaş and visual arts teacher Münevver Bülbül, the project aims to transform a neglected area into an aesthetic landmark. The mural is planned to feature Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Turkish flag, lighthouses, local bird species from the Bird Paradise, and an F-16 fighter jet to represent the region's aviation ties.
