Bandırma Vapuru moved to new location in Samsun

The Bandırma Vapuru Museum has been relocated from Doğupark to a new site near the Tütün İskelesi in Samsun as part of the Open Air Independence Square Museum Project. The relocation, completed on July 12 following eight months of technical preparation, involved moving the vessel by land using specialized equipment.

Infrastructure and landscaping works are currently underway at the new site. Following the removal of local roads and bridges, crews are cleaning excavation debris and deepening the sea to ensure the ship is positioned at sea level. Future stages of the project will include reinforcement works and landscaping to integrate the vessel into a larger historical and cultural area alongside the National Struggle Open Air Museum and Independence Square.
