In Çeşme, İzmir, beach operator Selhan Çalıkuşu has been awarded by the Aegean Gastronomy Tourism Association for implementing a sustainable business model based on her master's thesis. Her facility in Altınkum utilizes solar panels to meet its electricity needs and serves organic produce grown in an adjacent field. This approach offers a nature-friendly alternative to traditional entertainment-focused tourism in the region.
In Bandırma, Balıkesir, artisan Soner Karaşahin has spent seven years producing handmade leather goods without the use of machinery. Using raw leather sourced from Isparta, Karaşahin creates unique items such as bags, wallets, and accessories through manual cutting, stitching, and dyeing. His handcrafted products are sold to 40 provinces in Turkey and exported to nine different countries.
Additionally, the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality supported a cultural tour for women from Akhisar's 3 Havlu neighborhood to visit historical sites and martyr monuments in Çanakkale.
