Bandung aims to develop Pasar Baru and Pecinan Lama as global culinary hubs

The Bandung City Government is planning to transform the Pasar Baru and Pecinan Lama areas into world-class culinary destinations to attract tourists. The initiative involves reorganizing trading zones, surrounding streets, and developing night culinary spots while maintaining environmental cleanliness.

Mayor Muhammad Farhan stated that the project will follow a private-to-private investment scheme, where the government's role is limited to regulation, urban planning, and order. The development aims to connect Pasar Baru with Pecinan Lama as a hub for culinary and creative economy activities. To support accessibility, the city plans to renovate several small streets, including Jalan ABC, Suniaraja, and Alkateri, by 2027.
