Bandung DPRD discusses apartment regulations to address housing needs

The Bandung City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) is currently reviewing a draft regional regulation (Raperda) regarding apartment housing (rumah susun). The initiative aims to address the city's limited land availability and the rising demand for residential spaces.

Special Committee 20 of the DPRD is focusing on ensuring that these vertical housing developments are affordable, well-managed, and provide adequate infrastructure. A key priority is making these solutions accessible to low-income communities. To ensure the regulation meets practical needs, the committee has consulted with residents from the Cingised and Rancacili apartment areas to incorporate direct feedback into the policy.
