Bandung initiatives focus on urban greening and regional economic growth
The Bandung City Government has partnered with the private sector to enhance urban green spaces. Through a collaboration with the Real Estate Indonesia (REI) Central Executive Board and PT Buana Kasiti Group, 3,000 tree seedlings were donated to support reforestation and the creation of green and blue open spaces in the city.
Mayor Muhammad Farhan emphasized that the success of this initiative depends on the continuous maintenance of the trees rather than just the ceremonial planting. He called for active participation from regional agencies, the business community, and the public to ensure the sustainability of Bandung’s urban environment.
In the West Bandung region, economic activity is expanding alongside residential growth. In the Kota Baru Parahyangan area, which currently houses approximately 4,500 families, property values are reportedly increasing by more than 8 percent annually. This growth has led to the development of new commercial spaces, such as the Wangsakerta Business Loft, to meet the rising demand for office and business infrastructure driven by increased connectivity and local facilities.
