Bandung man found bound and gagged following suspected project fraud

A man identified as Agung Hardiana (AH) was found unconscious on the side of a road in the Cimenyan district of Bandung on Thursday night, October 15, 2026. The victim was discovered with his hands tied and his mouth covered in adhesive tape.

According to Cimenyan Police Chief Kompol Deni Muhtamar, the incident appears to be linked to a fraudulent project scheme. The victim reportedly lost approximately Rp50 million through a fake business cooperation. Preliminary reports suggest the victim was taken on a tour of Bandung before being given a drink that caused him to lose consciousness. He was allegedly abandoned in a secluded area of Cimenyan.

Following his discovery by local residents, the victim was evacuated to Santo Yusuf Hospital. Medical examinations revealed no signs of physical violence on his body. After receiving treatment, the victim regained consciousness and was permitted to return home with his family.
