Indonesia: Land corruption probe, counterfeit money bust, and civic updates

Various legal and civic developments are occurring across Indonesia. In Bali, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) are investigating a corruption case involving the illegal occupation of 230,450 square meters of state-owned land in Ungasan, Badung. Authorities have seized assets valued at Rp 4.8 trillion to secure the state's interests.

In Bandung, police dismantled a counterfeit money factory in Ciparay, arresting two brothers who were producing Rp 100,000 denominations. The operation uncovered a production process involving eight printers and raw materials intended to produce up to Rp 1 billion in fake currency.

Additionally, Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan addressed local issues, including the Pocari Run 2026, a national running event expected to draw 15,000 participants and boost the local economy despite planned traffic diversions. The Mayor also responded to the unauthorized cutting of trees near padel courts on Jalan Riau, stating that fines have been issued and business permits may be revoked for future violations.
