Bandung Regency provides social security for 1,231 athletes

The Bandung Regency Government has allocated BPJS Ketenagakerjaan social security coverage for 1,231 individuals, including 929 athletes and 302 officials and sports personnel. This coverage is intended to support the regional contingent for the 2026 West Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov XV).

Bupati Bandung Dadang Supriatna has instructed the Department of Youth and Sports (Dispora) to integrate this social security funding into annual budget planning. The goal is to ensure that protection, which includes Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Benefits (JKM), becomes a continuous commitment rather than a temporary measure limited to the competition period.

The funding is sourced from the Bandung Regency Regional Budget (APBD) via grants to the Bandung Regency National Sports Committee (KONI). The initiative follows a multi-year commitment to provide labor social security for all local athletes, coaches, and staff.
