Bandung Regency struck by magnitude 2.7 earthquake

A magnitude 2.7 earthquake struck the southern region of Bandung Regency, West Java, on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 04:33 WIB. According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), the epicenter was located on land, approximately 27 kilometers south of Bandung, at a shallow depth of 4 kilometers.

No official reports of casualties or structural damage have been released following the tremor. This event follows a pattern of recent seismic activity in the area, including another magnitude 2.7 earthquake on September 17.

In light of ongoing natural disaster threats in Indonesia, BMKG and other authorities emphasize the importance of tsunami awareness.
