Bandung Regency to offer tax exemptions for sustainable farmland
The Bandung Regency Government is preparing to provide Land and Building Tax (PBB) exemptions as an incentive for landowners who maintain their property as Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (LP2B). This initiative aims to prevent agricultural land from being converted into non-agricultural areas.
Regent Dadang Supriatna stated that the policy follows a collaborative process with the Ministry of Agraria and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency to designate approximately 24,200 hectares of rice fields as LP2B. This measure is intended to provide tangible rewards to farmers, ensuring they have sufficient support to preserve their land rather than facing only restrictions on land use.
Data from the Bandung Regency Government indicates that the total area of rice fields in the region was approximately 28,799.75 hectares in 2024, highlighting the scale of agricultural land requiring protection.
