Bandung Regent to sanction healthcare workers over BPJS patient comments

Bandung Regency Regent Dadang Supriatna has announced that strict sanctions will be imposed on healthcare workers in Cicalengka following a viral incident involving lack of empathy toward BPJS patients. The Regent stated that such behavior is inconsistent with the primary duty of healthcare professionals to serve the public.

Following an investigation, the official involved was identified as a Government Employee with Work Agreement (PPPK). Due to this employment status, the Regent noted that decisive actions, including potential termination of employment, can be processed through the Regional Civil Service and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM).

In addition to disciplinary measures, the Regent has instructed the Health Office and hospital directors within the regency to strengthen character and mental training for staff. This initiative aims to improve public service quality and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
