Banesco donates millions via point-of-sale initiative for earthquake relief

Banesco Banco Universal is continuing its ‘Transacciones con propósito’ initiative to provide aid to those affected by the double earthquake that struck Venezuela on June 24.

In July, the bank donated Bs. 88,244,214, collected through its point-of-sale terminals, to Fundana and the Ortopédico Infantil and San Juan de Dios hospitals. For August, the funds collected through the program will be directed toward educational institutions, specifically the Asociación Civil Damas Salesianas, Fe y Alegría, and the Asociación Venezolana de Educación Católica (AVEC).

The initiative works by contributing Bs. 1.00 for every transaction processed through Banesco point-of-sale terminals, regardless of the issuing bank. Banesco manages approximately 80 million operations per month through these terminals.
