Banff ranked most beautiful summer city in eye-tracking study

A study conducted by the hotel chain Premier Inn has identified the most visually appealing summer cities in the world using eye-tracking technology. By analyzing summer photographs of over 60 major global cities, researchers measured how quickly images captured attention and how long subjects' gazes lingered on specific motifs.

Banff, Canada, was ranked as the most beautiful summer city with a score of 96.0 out of 100. Participants spent an average of 3.2 seconds looking at the image of the town's rustic wooden houses set against a mountain backdrop, the longest duration recorded in the study. Mykonos, Greece, followed in second place with a score of 87.3, noted for being the fastest to capture attention at just 1.5 seconds.

Other top-ranking cities include Sydney, Australia (85.6), Bruges, Belgium (84.1), and Bristol, United Kingdom (83.7). The study also noted significant representation from the United Kingdom and Germany within the top 30 rankings.
