Bangalore startup scene fuels entrepreneurship amid high costs

Bangalore, often referred to as India’s startup capital, attracts roughly 47% of the nation’s startup funding while also recording the highest number of closed startups at 845. The city’s ecosystem is characterized by a relentless entrepreneurial spirit; observers note that discussions about new ventures are commonplace even at ordinary tea stalls, reflecting a culture where “everyone is doing crazy things.”

Founders in the city face operational expenses that are three to four times higher than in tier‑2 locations, and talent salaries are inflated by 40‑60% due to intense competition. In this environment, digital marketing has become essential for survival. India’s digital advertising market reached ₹94,700 crore in FY 2024‑25, with Bangalore startups accounting for a significant share. Many early‑stage companies lack the resources to build in‑house teams, prompting a growing demand for specialised digital‑marketing agencies that can deliver multi‑channel expertise at a lower overall cost.
