Bangchak Corporation hosts CCS technology seminar with Norwegian partners

Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited partnered with Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP), the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Thailand, Innovation Norway, and the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce to host a seminar titled ‘Building the CCS Value Chain: Norwegian Experience and Opportunities for Asia’. The event, held at Bangchak’s headquarters, focused on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology.

Approximately 100 representatives from government agencies, the private sector, and industry experts participated in discussions regarding the development of the CCS value chain, including carbon dioxide transport and storage, as well as the challenges of developing the CCS market in Asia. The seminar featured experts from Thailand, Norway, and the broader Asian region.

Bangchak has maintained a significant connection to Norway since 2018 as a major shareholder in the Norwegian petroleum exploration and production company OKEA ASA. This investment has provided the group with direct experience in operating on the Norwegian continental shelf, specifically regarding safety standards, environmental management, and responsible resource development.
