Bangkanai Field condensate transport disrupted by drought

A prolonged drought in Central Kalimantan is impacting upstream oil and gas operations at the Bangkanai Field. The receding river levels have prevented barges, which are typically used to transport condensate via a 200-kilometer pipeline, from docking and operating effectively.

To maintain production lifting, SKK Migas and Medco have implemented alternative logistics schemes. Approximately 600 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) of condensate are currently being transported using tank trucks and Landing Craft Tanks (LCT) to reach accessible ports or river locations. SKK Migas officials have expressed hope for the return of rainfall to restore normal river levels and logistics.
