Bangkok announces flood relief funds and application guidelines
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has announced guidelines and channels for flood victims in Bangkok to claim financial assistance. Affected residents can apply for aid from two primary sources: government subsistence allowances and BMA compensation for damages and repairs. Applications must be submitted within 30 days of the disaster.
Government subsistence aid can be requested via the ‘Tang Rat’ application. BMA compensation, which covers actual damages such as home repairs, can be applied for online through the website claim.bangkok.go.th or in person at local district offices. To reduce the burden on victims, a police report is not required for the application process.
Specific compensation limits include: - Home repairs: Up to 88,600 THB per house (excluding rental properties). - Temporary accommodation: Up to 3,000 THB per month for a maximum of two months. - Occupational tools and capital: Up to 13,500 THB per family. - Medical expenses: Up to 2,000 THB for outpatients and 4,000 THB for inpatients. - Funeral expenses: Up to 35,700 THB per person. - Subsistence allowance: 3,800 THB for total house damage and 1,900 THB for partial damage.
