Bangkok: Knife-wielding man injures four in Sukhumvit rampage

A man armed with a knife went on a rampage in the Sukhumvit 21 Soi 3 area of Bangkok on Thursday morning, injuring at least four people and causing significant property damage. The attacker chased pedestrians on the sidewalk, toppled food vendor carts, and smashed shop windows.

One victim, a female cafe employee, sustained a severe head wound and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The incident caused chaos near the Israeli Embassy, prompting police to set up roadblocks and increase security presence in the area to ensure public safety.

Preliminary reports suggest the attacker is a Myanmar national who may have been experiencing emotional distress after failing to locate his wife. Police successfully surrounded and subdued the man, who has been taken to the Thon Lor police station for interrogation to determine his exact motives.
